Time Remaining To Catch A Spring Training Game

Buy & Sell Baseball Tickets on StubHub.com!

Illustration By Gene Warne / Warne Brothers ProductionsNothing compliments Arizona’s beautiful spring weather better than Cactus League Baseball.  Each and every year, Spring Training in Arizona attracts thousands of local residents and winter visitors to all 9 of its ballparks for an “up-close” look at Major League Baseball.

Spring-training was firmly established in the early part of the 1900’s, however, it never made its way to Arizona until 1947. Horace Stoneman (then owner of the New York Giants) and Bill Veeck (then owner of the Cleveland Indians), had property and business interests in the Tucson/ Phoenix area and helped bring Spring Training to the state.  Like Florida’s Grapefruit League, many small Arizona communities would soon be known across the nation thanks to the allure of Major League Baseball.

Spring baseball in Arizona has never skipped a beat, as the Cactus League has now grown to 9 ballparks hosting 12 Major League Baseball Teams.  The Cactus League has continued to grow in popularity each and every season.  Perhaps, the opportunity to buy cheap tickets, watch some great games, see some great players, and get up close and personal with the athletes has contributed to this trend.

Get yourself out to the park to watch a game and soak up the Arizona sun!
